Considerate Constructors Scheme
CLIFTON EXPLORER LIBRARY
We have successfully completed an extensive refurbishment on an existing library for York City Council.
The scheme comprised a remodel and refurb of the existing library building as well as a new large 2 storey extension.
Internally on the 1st Floor we have created classrooms, activity rooms, café area, hub, an arts and crafts room and a sensory room. The 2nd floor is predominately Offices and meeting rooms with an IT Suite also located on that floor.
Externally in the main the building is brick but there is Trespa Cladding installed around the second storey of the building. We have created a landscaped garden area along with a childrens soft play and ample car parking spaces.
The library has had air source heat pumps installed as well as brise soleil (solar shading) positioned on the external walls. We have also designed a green roof on the new extension of the library.
The scheme was successfully completed and the library fully back into operation in September 2024.
