MIDDLETON OAKS, FAMILY LIVING
The works were to construct a new single storey family living unit of 1010m2; providing 2 households with 8 ensuite bedrooms in each. The 2 wings are joined by an entrance winter garden area under a spectacular domed roof light.
Heated by an underfloor system, Middleton Oaks provides care in a “home from home” in the grounds of this well-established retirement community. Close attention to detail and consideration by all ensured the build caused minimal disruption to residents. The bricks used were carefully chosen to match the existing buildings.
Middleton Oaks provides a peaceful home environment, which allows residents with dementia the opportunity to regain their confidence and independence.
The scheme was awarded a National Considerate Constructors Bronze Award.
