Le Cateau School Completion

22nd Dec 2017

Walter Thompson recently completed a three phase project for Le Cateau Community Primary School in Catterick.

New Purpose Build Extension

The project commenced on the 27th of February 2017 with work starting shortly after on the MUGA Pitch (Multi Use Games Area) which allows the children to play a multitude of sports outside all year round.

Phase two consisted of the three new classrooms and a bungalow refurbishment.

Finally was phase three which saw the Hall extended and refurbished to include a spacious area for the children to enjoy. It’s been fully fitted with surround speakers and large electronic projector for assemblies and presentations.

“The whole project has been very well received by the client North Yorkshire County Council and the School itself, the children love their new classrooms and hall!”

We have worked very closely with the School and have jumped at the chance to educate the children through Brickwork Classes, Safety Presentations with Ivor & Honour Goodsite and various guided Tours for the Children & Teachers of the projects. We loved being involved with the opening day charity event by setting up a brick shy stall for all the children to have fun and raise some funds for the school.

Before completing the job we buried a time capsule from the school which included a full set of project drawings and two payslips that were found in the roof of the hall from 1958 when it was originally constructed. There has been a sign erected to instruct the capsule to be opened in 2047.

The whole project has been very well received by the client North Yorkshire County Council and the School itself, the children love their new classrooms and hall!

It has been a pleasure to work closely with Le Cateau School and become part of their Family.
