Breaking Ground on Overdale Community Primary School

21th July 2020

There was excitement at Eastfield as following several years of development the ground was officially broken at the new Overdale Community Primary School site.

The site of the new school, which is less than half a mile north of the current school, will accommodate 420 pupils plus a three class nursery. Additionally, there will be facilities for the community to use attached to the school.

The project is being developed in conjunction with Overdale School and will be funded by the County Council with funding from the authority and developers Kebbel Homes and Keepmoat Ltd.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a small group of five people met on the site of the ground-breaking ceremony maintaining social distancing.

In addition (from left) Cllr Tony Randerson, Member for Eastfield and Osgodby; Paul Hammerton, Managing Director of Walter Thompson Ltd; Vicki Logan Headteacher of Overdale Community Primary School; Graham Cooper, Project Manager for Walter Thompson Ltd and Pete Bowdidge-Harling, Chair of Governors at Overdale Community Primary School.
