Bradford Care Home Completion

23rd June 2021

Works have recently completed on Wykewood care home in Bradford. Built on the site of an old library, this traditional built specialist nursing home supports up to 40 adults living with complex mental and physical health needs over four 10-bed units.

New Purpose Build Care Home

Bradford

Due to the project area being a brownfield site, extensive remediation works were carried out including the removal of contaminated material before construction could commence.

As well as 40 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite wet room, Wykewood has communal dining and living spaces, as well as a hair salon, sensory room and therapy room which provides a dedicated space for rehabilitation. The home is surrounded by a large landscaped garden, that’s been designed with accessibility in mind. The project also included the construction of a new car park and access from the highway.

The client is delighted with the project and the home is now operational with a number of service users in residence.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the project for making it such a successful home.

Special thanks go to the Walter Thompson team on this project:
