Starbeck School Completion
14/08/2025
We’re delighted to announce the completion of the Springwater school expansion in Harrogate, in partnership with North Yorkshire Council.
This project involved the redevelopment of two nearby buildings to create modern and inclusive spaces to better meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The new facilities include:
- Purpose-built Classrooms, Group Rooms, and Administrative Areas – Designed with flexibility in mind, these spaces allow for tailored teaching, one-to-one support and a welcoming reception and office area for both staff and visitors.
- Accessible Hygiene and Changing Facilities – Fully equipped with specialist fittings and ramped access, ensuring all pupils can move around comfortably regardless of any mobility needs.
- A Fully Equipped Sensory Room – Offering a calming, stimulating environment to support sensory development, alongside a specialist training kitchen where students can learn essential life skills in a safe & supportive setting.
- Secure Outdoor Learning Areas – Safe, stimulating outdoor spaces for play, exercise, and hands-on learning, including a dedicated sixth-form area that will encourage independence and social interaction for older students.
This expansion has not only increased the school’s overall capacity but has also enriched the quality of its learning environment. Works were completed just in time for the Autumn, and as the school was operational during this period, we ensured there was minimal disruption to their day-to-day operations.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this valuable and rewarding project to life.
