Walter Thompson's Win Regional Heat at CITB SkillBuild

Yesterday was the SkillBuild 2018 competition, which was held at Newcastle College. SkillBuild is the largest multi-trade competition in the Country for Construction Trainees and Apprentices, covering ten craft occupations. It is run by CITB with the endorsement of WorldSkills and consists of 14 Regional Heats that take place across England, Scotland and Wales every Year. A series of competitions sees the very best compete against each other to be crowned a winner in their chosen trade. Much like the Olympics, as each level of competition progresses, competitors will be tested not only on their technical abilities, but on their time management, character and commitment, and the competitions can help them build their own confidence, self-esteem and life skills.

The Regional Heats involve Students working on test plans which take a day to complete, with the highest scorers being put forward to compete in the National Final.

Walter Thompson are extremely proud to announce that Henry Stamp was the overall winner in Carpentry Advanced Section & Matthew Langthorne was the Overall Winner in New Entrant Skill Build.

Credit also goes to Ryan Wilshere and George Bradley whom both participated in the bricklayers section.
